In January 1997, we began house hunting for our first home. A colleague who had recently moved into a new home in Santa Cruz recommended her agent with glowing colors.
Being prospective first-time homeowners with a limited budget, we required an agent in whom we could put our complete trust. One who would take on the role of guide and teacher, as well as Realtor. Dee took on all those roles and more. Dee was able to assess our situation financially and translate the seeming impossibility into a reality. She took the time to sit with us (over a meal), listened to our misgivings and projected concerns, and gave us answers, possibilities, and realistic alternatives. Despite our fear and skepticism of the real estate process, we never doubted Dee's integrity for a moment. This came as an enormous relief to us, and continued to be our source of strength though a long end, at times, tenuous escrow.
The circumstances of the sale of the house required utmost cooperation and determination. Dee provided the commitment that we needed during that time. Her patience and positive spirit kept us focused, yet she stayed grounded in a realistic approach and attitude to the obstacles and challenges presented to us. She had us question matters that we hadn't thought of.
The last month of escrow turned out to be a stressful one. Dee was there as our advocate the entire time, and we never lost our confidence in her abilities. She has a professional, responsible, intelligent and astute approach to her work and her job knowledge. She managed a difficult situation involving many players, and each and every one of them have informed us of what a professional delight it was working with Dee Vogel. The loan officer was impressed by Dee's intuitive ability to work as a team and the seller's agent has praised Dee's spirit, empathy, and diligence. Dee built a team in order to make the sale happen and had a positive impact on the relationships she created.
